Our client has a career opening for an MS SQL Developer.

This person must be degreed, two proven years of SQL

development experienced are required. This person will be

writing stored procedures and SSIS, that is the experience we

are searching for to fill this position. They will be doing a good

share of heads down programming.

This will be a SQL database of an enterprise class that supports

the web site. Eventually this will become a data warehouse.

The Role:
The Senior Database Administrator designs, administers and supports development, staging and production databases for high-volume web-based transactional applications. The majority of the work will focus on SQL Server running in a clustered & replicated environment; we have an Oracle database powering e-commerce queries that you'll work with, too.

Job Description                               

This database administrator position will primarily be responsible for supporting SQL Server database systems and some application tier components. The environment is primarily a mix of SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 running on virtualized Windows servers and Oracle 10/11G running on Oracle RAC on an Oracle Enterprise Linux operating system. SQL Server applications supported include Oracle Siebel, JWS APEX, in house developed Power Builder applications and a variety of other third party applications that use a SQL Server back-end.

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must also be able to function in a corporate environment working with technical peers, developers, and the company’s business departments.

Expert-level knowledge of SQL Server database system (2005, 2008 & 2008/R2) and included tools.

Experience in performance tuning and optimization using native and third-party monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Solid foundational knowledge of SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for SQL Server.

Proficiency in Transact-SQL, writing stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc.

Experience in designing and implementing operational automation tasks across SQL Server environments.

Basic knowledge of Windows Server OS including Active Directory and disk configuration.

Experience in the following is a plus

Experience with Silent Install/SYSREP scripting for SQL Server 2008 R2.

Experience with Quest Lightspeed for SQL Server version 6.x and up.

Experience with Oracle RDBMS.

Experience with UNIX or LINUX.

Experience in the implementation, on-going management and regular reporting of Sarbanes-Oxley regulatory compliance for SQL Server environments.
