This cross-functional role requires working with GHX staff, including developers, system administrators, QA engineers, customer service representatives, and product managers. This position will ensure GHX applications utilizing SQL Server run smoothly and perform as required, and strive to achieve 99.9% uptime. This position is also expected to provide guidance and assistance to junior database administrators.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities ·      ÂDesign, develop and implement core SQL Server administration activities, including: backups, performance monitoring and tuning, patching, upgrading, etc. ·      ÂSupport SDLC release process by reviewing, approving, and deploying production system releases during normal system maintenance windows ·      ÂTroubleshoot SQL Server system level issues such as crashes due to device failures, corruption, lock handling, backup / recovery, etc. and make recommendations to Product Management and IT Management for resolving the issues ·      ÂAssist development teams in the logical and physical database design, including table and index design, query analysis, and physical file layout (file groups, fill factors, etc). ·      ÂProvide rotating on call 24/7 operation support. ·      ÂOther duties as assigned.  Qualifications ·      ÂBachelor’s degree preferred or 6 years active experience in SQL Server Administration ·      ÂGood verbal and written communication skills required ·      ÂMCDBA / MCST Certification preferred ·      ÂDemonstrated ability to administer and support SQL Server installations (2000 and 2005) ·      ÂDemonstrated ability to install and maintain SQL Server on clustered servers ·      ÂStrong SQL query and stored procedure (TSQL) development skills required ·      ÂDTS – Data Transformation Service package knowledge ·      ÂExperience using third-party SQL Server administration tools, such as RedGate ·      ÂExperience in troubleshooting SQL Server system level issues such as: crashes due to device failures, corruption, lock handling, recovery, etc. ·      ÂUnderstanding of SAN and Networking principals.

| SQL Developer/Crystal Reports Project | Developer --- Crystal Reports (Richmond, VA.)
This developer is needed to support the current citrix migration timelines for Provider Synergies Applications. PS servers are maintained locally at their current location and their applications are hardcoded with the server details will have to modified to access the servers after the Citrix Migration, which is a huge developmental and testing effort.
The developer will also support PIC changes for CMS mandated invoicing format change. The State has agreed to pay for the changes. The developer will support database development of stored procedures and functions to support the changes needed for these projects. The team is currently down by 2 consultants. While efforts are being made to fill those positions, this contractor can be considered for a Contract to Hire, if permitted.
This individual will server as a developer responsible for ensuring development activities, follow the disciplines outlined by the IT Organization and the Project Management Office.
This individual will be charged with development tasks using the Crystal Reports programming, SQL Server database programming and should be able to demonstrate proficiency in supporting the day to day issues and changes during his contractual period.
The successful candidate will have strong software development skills in all phases of a development life cycle, accompanied by strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate should be able to demonstrate proficiency in one or more relational database disciplines.
Requirements:
Candidate must of have a minimum of 2 – 3 years of strong experience in designing and developing database stored procedures, DTS Packages in SQL Server 2000, plus strong experience in designing and developing Reports using Crystal Reports.
This assignment should be 4 months,which could well be extended; Contract To Hire is the ultimate goal here.
